In a bold move to propel the Algerian startup ecosystem onto the global stage, 60 innovative young companies took flight on Thursday to China and South Korea. This ambitious exchange program, called ASEP (Algerian Startup Learning Expedition Program), aims to connect Algerian entrepreneurs with their counterparts in countries leading the way in technological innovation.
The two delegations of 30 startups each will embark on an intensive 15-day learning journey. During this trip, they will make 18 strategic stops at leading technology hubs, interacting with industry leaders, exchanging experiences with other international startups, and exploring collaboration opportunities with local and global companies.
ASEP, led by the Algerian presidency, with the supervision of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, and implemented by the public accelerator Algeria Venture, ultimately aims to support 450 Algerian startups. These startups will benefit from similar stays in China, the United States, and South Korea.
Through these expeditions, ASEP offers participating startups a unique platform to access international markets, forge strategic partnerships, and boost their growth on a global scale. The program goes beyond simply preparing for internationalization; it aims to equip these companies to become major players in the economy of tomorrow.
“These visits will offer startups a global perspective, allowing them to draw inspiration from international best practices by exposing themselves to the most advanced innovation ecosystems,” said Sidali Zerrouki, CEO of Algeria Venture. Each step of the program will enrich entrepreneurs’ understanding of global dynamics, foster strategic partnerships, and integrate innovative ideas into their development.
The ultimate goal of this ambitious program is clear: to propel Algerian startups onto the international stage and enable them to benefit from the expertise, resources, and opportunities offered by global technology giants. Startups interested in participating in future expeditions are invited to register through the program’s official website.
