In a significant move to foster innovation within Tunisia’s startup ecosystem, Orange Fab Tunisie has launched a call for applications for the seventh season of its corporate accelerator programme. Since its inception in 2019, the accelerator has supported 35 startups, helping them scale and form crucial business contracts with Orange Tunisie, the Orange Group, and their global partners.

Orange Fab Tunisie, the corporate accelerator of telecom giant Orange Tunisie, has steadily positioned itself as a key player in the Tunisian startup landscape. Over the past six seasons, the programme has demonstrated its commitment to providing early-stage ventures with the tools and opportunities needed to grow. Through strategic partnerships and business agreements, it has empowered startups to thrive in both local and international markets. The accelerator forms part of a broader initiative by Orange Tunisie, which spans a range of startup support services, from technological incubation to investment through its dedicated fund, Orange Ventures.

A Comprehensive Support Ecosystem for Startups

The accelerator is more than just a business booster; it is an integral part of a holistic support structure aimed at nurturing tech-driven entrepreneurship in Tunisia. With a portfolio of offerings that includes the FabSpace Lac, a digital fabrication space, a coding school, and investment pathways, Orange Fab Tunisie acts as a bridge between innovation and market access. Orange Ventures, the group’s venture capital arm, focuses on early-stage investments, further enhancing the growth trajectory of the startups it backs.

The mission of Orange Fab Tunisie is clear: to build a competitive edge for Tunisian startups by facilitating business partnerships, not just with Orange Tunisie, but also with the Orange Group and its wide array of international affiliates. This access to high-volume markets provides startups with a significant competitive advantage, positioning them as credible players on the global stage.

    Tailored Support and Global Opportunities

Startups selected for the accelerator will receive a tailored programme designed to meet their specific needs. The range of benefits includes personalized mentoring, free cloud services in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and free access to coworking spaces equipped with office amenities and high-speed internet.

Moreover, the programme offers unrivalled exposure through participation in national and international events, enhancing the visibility of participating startups. Access to the global Orange Fab network, present in 18 countries, further amplifies the potential for international growth. Startups also gain the opportunity to pitch their innovations at the highly anticipated Demo Day, where they will meet potential investors, strategic partners, and representatives from other Orange Fab programmes across the world.

    Criteria for Selection

Orange Fab Tunisie’s selection process hinges on four primary criteria:

    • Innovation: Startups must demonstrate an innovative business model or product.
    • Scalability: The solution should have the potential for both national and international expansion.
    • Maturity: Startups must have a commercialised or ready-to-market product.
    • Alignment with Orange: The startup’s value proposition should align with one of Orange Tunisie’s business units.

Startups that meet these criteria are encouraged to apply before the October 20, 2024 deadline. With the Tunisian startup ecosystem experiencing a steady rise in global recognition, the Orange Fab accelerator offers a rare opportunity for young ventures to fast-track their growth by leveraging a world-class network and tailored support.

The upcoming season promises to further cement Orange Fab Tunisie’s role as a central hub for tech-driven startups looking to scale across borders. For Tunisian entrepreneurs with a vision to innovate and disrupt, the seventh season of the Orange Fab corporate accelerator might just be the gateway to success.

Applications can be submitted through the official Orange Fab Tunisie website: orangefab.tn/candidater.
