    Spanish Delivery Startup Glovo Appoints Kenya’s Shiro Theuri as CTO

     Spanish delivery startup Glovo has announced the appointment of Kenyan tech veteran Shiro Theuri as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Theuri brings a wealth of experience in engineering leadership and a proven track record of driving innovation in the tech industry.

    In her new role, Theuri will oversee Glovo’s technology strategy and development, ensuring the company’s continued growth and success. Her appointment comes at a crucial time for Glovo as it expands its operations both domestically and internationally.

    “I am thrilled to get the opportunity to play a key role at Glovo, and use my position to lead and drive innovation within the organisation. My main goals will be to keep delivering excellence in our customer experience while building the best tech and data strategies to scale our platform in all our markets. As a passionate mentor for others, I’m also excited to use my role to empower more women and support diversity in technology while building the best technology team in Europe,’’ Theuri said

    Prior to joining Glovo, Theuri held senior engineering positions at several startups and small businesses. She was previously the VP of Engineering at Sendy, an end-to-end fulfillment platform, and the CTO at FrontlineSMS, a mobile campaign messaging service.

    The appointment of Shiro Theuri is a significant milestone for Glovo and a testament to the company’s commitment to attracting top talent from around the world. 

    Glovo is a leading on-demand delivery platform that connects users with a wide range of services, including food delivery, grocery shopping, pharmacy orders (where permitted by law), and more. Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Glovo operates across South West Europe, Eastern Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The app offers a convenient and efficient way for customers to order anything they need, from their favorite meals to everyday essentials.
