Glovo, a leading global delivery platform, has carved out a notable presence in Morocco through its complex business model that serves as an intermediary platform, facilitating millions in transactions for its network of partners and couriers across the Kingdom. Central to its operations are various Moroccan start-ups that have integrated innovative solutions to support and enhance Glovo’s activities, highlighting the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.

Vantage Payment Systems: Streamlining Digital Payments

As part of its mission to digitize payments in Morocco, Glovo manages a significant volume of monthly transactions via credit card, achieving a 56% penetration rate on its platform. To handle this volume efficiently and ensure smooth payment flows, Glovo has partnered with Vantage Payment Systems (VPS). VPS, a leading Moroccan fintech, provides advanced payment solutions tailored to the digital age.

“This partnership with Glovo perfectly illustrates our commitment to providing innovative and secure payment solutions like Payzone and Payexpress, meeting the digitization needs of businesses,” said Ali Bettahi, CEO of VPS. “Together, we simplify transactions for millions of users in Morocco, leveraging our expertise to support Glovo’s business. This is a major step for VPS in transforming the digital payments landscape.”

    Konta: Revolutionizing Supplier Management

Glovo’s prominence in Morocco’s distribution sector, particularly through its virtual supermarkets Glovo Market, underscores the need for efficient supplier and inventory management. Here, the collaboration with startup Konta is pivotal. Founded in 2019 in Casablanca, Konta offers a comprehensive solution for managing supplier expenses.

“Konta facilitates the management of purchase invoices for Glovo. In just three weeks, we implemented our service, continuously optimizing our product through constant feedback from the Glovo team,” said Mehdi Zirari, Chief Product Officer of Konta.

    Digishare: Enhancing Communication

Maintaining effective communication with 6,500 partners is a challenge Glovo addresses with the help of Digishare, a Moroccan SaaS platform. Digishare centralizes all communication functionalities, notably utilizing WhatsApp to streamline interactions with partners and couriers.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to providing innovative and effective communication solutions. By using our platform, Glovo has strengthened its ties with partners in Morocco, ensuring greater fluidity and responsiveness,” noted Youssef Benmoussa, CEO of Digishare.

Ecopara: Integrating Pharmacies into the Digital Ecosystem

With its expansion into the care and beauty segments, Glovo collaborates with Ecopara to bring pharmacies into the digital marketplace. Ecopara, a Moroccan solution, facilitates this transition, enhancing access to parapharmaceutical products via Glovo’s platform.

“Our collaboration with Glovo constitutes a digital bridge for healthcare professionals, bringing parapharmaceutical products closer to consumers and enriching the user experience,” stated Omar Sefiani, CEO & Co-founder of Ecopara.

VelyVelo by Pikaleev: Promoting Sustainable Delivery

Addressing the need for sustainable delivery solutions, Glovo partners with VelyVelo, a specialist in electric bicycle rental, tracking, and maintenance. After succeeding in Paris, VelyVelo, under the name Pikaleev, has established itself in Casablanca, meeting the demand for eco-friendly home delivery.

“It was obvious to partner with Glovo, the number one home delivery company in Morocco. Together, we offer innovative and sustainable urban delivery solutions, reducing the carbon footprint and improving urban life quality,” said Othmane Razine, co-founder of Vely Vélo.

    Cathédis: Facilitating Logistics Across Morocco

Operating in 38 cities across the Kingdom, Glovo requires efficient logistics for distributing various products. This need is met by Cathédis, a Moroccan startup specializing in delivery and e-logistics. Founded in 2015 by Imad El Mansour Zekri, Cathédis provides same-day delivery, online or on-delivery payment, and real-time parcel tracking.

This partnership allows Glovo to benefit from efficient logistics solutions tailored to its needs, thus enhancing inter-city distribution capabilities.

The integration of innovative Moroccan startups into the Glovo ecosystem exemplifies the synergy between local technology and international platforms. These strategic partnerships not only bolster Glovo’s leadership in home delivery in Morocco but also foster the growth of a dynamic and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem. Moreover, these collaborations open international opportunities for Moroccan start-ups, enabling their expansion into other markets where Glovo operates. This geographical growth is crucial for start-ups seeking to diversify and scale their operations globally.
