In a strategic move aimed at bolstering support for early-stage startups across Africa, Baobab Network, a prominent investor in the region, has announced its acquisition of Reflector Marketing, a leading strategy and branding agency headquartered in South Africa.
Baobab Network, known for its commitment to nurturing startups since its inception in 2019, has significantly increased its investment standard to US$50,000. With a diverse portfolio of 50 startups, the network has been instrumental in accelerating the growth of emerging businesses through capacity building and fundraising initiatives.
Reflector Marketing, founded in 2022 by Klyne Maharaj, has garnered recognition for its specialized services catering to the unique needs of startups, including strategic marketing, branding, and digital solutions. The acquisition marks a pivotal moment for both entities, signifying Baobab Network’s ambitious expansion plans and its dedication to fostering entrepreneurship across the continent.
Toby Hanington, co-founder of Baobab Network, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasizing its alignment with the company’s vision of becoming the leading early-stage investor in Africa. “Our decision to acquire Reflector Marketing underscores our commitment to adding value beyond capital investment.
