Mirepa Investment Advisors (MIA), a leading Ghanaian investment firm, has announced a significant investment in Wami Agro Limited, a Ghanaian AgriTech company revolutionizing sustainable farming practices. This strategic partnership aims to empower farmers, enhance agricultural productivity, and drive positive change in the food and agricultural industry.
Wami Agro, known for its innovative approach to agriculture, focuses on providing tech-enabled solutions that improve farmers’ quality of life, protect the environment, and secure sustainable sourcing. The company’s model widens access to finance and market opportunities for farmers while offering essential training programs, including farm input prescription and educational resources to optimize yields.
The investment from MIA’s Mirepa Capital SME Fund I (MCSFI) will enable Wami Agro to scale its operations and expand its impact across the agricultural value chain. With a network of over 13,000 farmers across five regions in Ghana, Wami Agro has already established itself as a key player in the rice, maize, soya, and sorghum value chains. The company aims to become the leading force driving sustainable food production and supply in Africa.
Enyonam Kakane, a representative from MIA, emphasized the multifaceted benefits of this investment, stating, “The investment in Wami Agro delivers multiple social and economic value to both the investee and our investors. This investment comes at a time when agricultural value chains are in dire need of investments which they are not obtaining from the normal channels. The export opportunities that Wami Agro presents also means that this company will contribute to stabilizing the cedi with inflows of foreign currency.”
Caleb Edwards, Managing Director of Wami Agro, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This strategic investment from Mirepa Investment Advisors will enable us to expand our reach, enhance our technological capabilities, and continue to drive positive change in the food and agricultural industry in Ghana and beyond.”

Wami Agro secured GHS 2.21 million ($227K) in seed funding from The Wangara Green Ventures, an impact investment fund focused on supporting sustainable businesses in Ghana in 2022.
The collaboration between Mirepa Investment Advisors and Wami Agro represents a significant step forward for sustainable agriculture in Ghana. By combining financial resources with technological innovation and a commitment to empowering farmers, this partnership has the potential to transform the agricultural landscape and create a lasting positive impact on the lives of thousands of individuals.
